Dopiaza
About this spice mix
Onions added in two stages (dopiaza means double onions) for a curry that is both sweet and savoury. Our authentic premixed dopiaza spice mix brings together coriander, cumin, kashmiri chilli, turmeric, cardamom, cinnamon and bay leaf in exactly the right proportions, for a warming, medium spiced curry that tastes the way it should. Each packet serves two: just add chicken or lamb, onions and garlic cloves, follow the recipe below, and it is ready in about 50 minutes.

How to cook dopiaza
Serves two. Prep 10 min, cook 40 min. Everything you need, right here.
First onions
Fry the chopped onion in the oil until golden, then add the garlic, ginger and spice mix.
Cook the meat
Add the meat, tomatoes and yoghurt and stir until sealed.
Simmer
Add a splash of water, cover and simmer until tender.
Second onions
Add the onion petals and cook uncovered until sweet and just softened. Season.
